Top Eerie Halloween Family Events in Coventry

Halloween is creeping closer, and if you’re wondering how to keep the kids busy over October half-term, Coventry has plenty of spooky family events going on. There are train rides through darkened woods, potion making in one of the city’s historic buildings and even the chance to put a more cheerful spin on pumpkin carving.

We’ve picked five Halloween family events in Coventry and nearby that offer something a little different this October.

Kids Halloween at The Heart of England

There’s plenty to fill an evening at The Heart of England’s Kids Halloween Spooktacular. Children can tackle the giant inflatables, join the disco and play games before climbing aboard the train. It heads through the Enchanted Woods, where the Secret Witches’ Lair is waiting at the other end.

Date: 26 to 30 October 2026
Tickets: £15 children, £5 adults. Pre-booking essential

The Cursed Guildhall at St Mary’s Guildhall

Coventry’s medieval Guildhall should make a suitably atmospheric setting for some Halloween mischief. Younger visitors can find Gertie the Witch in the Great Hall, make potions and try Halloween crafts. For older children feeling brave, an appointment with the Plague Doctor offers a rather darker look at the city’s past.

Date: 24 to 31 October 2026
Tickets: Normal admission charges apply

Positive Pumpkin Carving at All Saints Church

Pumpkin carving doesn’t have to be scary. All Saints Church in Allesley is taking a brighter approach with its annual Positive Pumpkin Carving session. All of the pumpkins and tools are provided, so your child will have everything they need to unleash their creativity. There’s also a churchyard Pumpkin Trail to explore throughout half-term.

Date: Wednesday 28 October 2026
Tickets: £2 per child. Advance booking required

Kids Halloween Disco at The Rose & Crown

Got a Halloween costume ready to go? The Rose & Crown in Wolston is giving children somewhere to wear it with an evening disco. Along with music and dancing, there’ll be games and prizes. Better still for parents planning half-term on a budget, entry is completely free and there’s no need to book.

Date: Wednesday 28 October 2026
Tickets: Free. No booking required

Halloween at Copsewood Miniature Railway

A miniature railway ride gets an eerie makeover for Halloween at Copsewood Sports Ground. The volunteer-run railway is opening for two special late-afternoon sessions, giving families a chance to ride as daylight fades. You can also stop by the clubhouse for refreshments, with tea, coffee, cakes and a BBQ available.

Date: Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026
Tickets: No ticket required. Donations accepted at the gate

Refresh their school uniform this half-term

October half-term is also a handy time to check how school uniform is holding up before winter. If trousers are looking short, jumpers are getting snug, you need more winter PE kit or you simply need a few spares, the October break is the perfect time to get them ordered before school starts again.

You can browse our school uniform range in our shops or at Clive Mark online.
